This post is a little different for me.  It’s quite amazing how attached you can become to your blog.  I’ve been feeling very guilty being I haven’t been very consistent with my blogging… LOL.  This summer was quite an unusual one for me and it’s quite hard to believe it’s over.  As most of you know, I had broken my foot back in July and was laid up for about 2 months.  I was quite ecstatic to get the news that I didn’t need surgery, but I found that since I’m back on my feet, 2 months leaves a lot of things waiting to be taken care of which leaves little time for much else.  Thus, my blog has been left quite neglected.  I hope to get back to blogging more consistently soon, but I’m not sure when.  Please forgive me as I get things back on track.

 What calms you down?
Rather than “what” calms me down, for me it’s more about “who” calms me down.  I have a tendency to get very pressured and when I get pressured, I’m like a pressure cooker ready to pop if it goes too far.  My son has a way of being able to calm me down.  Maybe it’s because he and I are a lot alike so, he understands me, but whatever it is, he would be the way to calmer waters for me.

Whats your favorite fantasy sandwich?
My favorite fantasy sandwich would be breaded chicken cutlet (a la my husband, of course) on a roll with wet mozzarella and roasted peppers, topped with balsamic vinaigrette…  Mmmmmm!!!

Sadly, I’ve never had a nickname.  I always wanted one, but none ever stuck.

TREES …

When Autumn Came

3. She rarely bites and if so, she’s not poisonous;

So glad she didn’t see me as a threat.

Like I said, I do NOT like spiders, but this was so beautiful and the web was really amazing, I overcame my fear and shot a couple pictures.  I didn’t set up my tripod because I was in a really weird angle and, I was basically freaked out.  I wanted to shoot and leave.  LOL!  Here’s another from the back.

And one more to let you see this web.  I’ve never seen a web with the zig zagging like that.

Does anyone know what kind of spider this is and if it’s poisonous?  We’re a little concerned it may be because of how much color it has.  (I’d heard the more colorful an insect is, the more likely that it’s poisonous.  That could be totally bogus, but any help with this would be really appreciated.)

When I got back into the house, guess who was back?  You got it.  He returned to the window and was having a snack it seems.  I took this from inside so, the photos are not the best, but you can definitely get a good idea of what he looked like.

And one more nice view of his body …

I really don’t like spiders, but I will say since photographing them and seeing the designs and details on them, they are kind of intriguing.

Under The Sea

Deep in the bosom of the ocean,
Where sunshine fades to twilight gloom,
The pure pearls lie, and the coral bloom

Calm and still the hours pass by
The lovely things that sleeping lie,

The thunder rolls from cloud to cloud,
And the bitter blast sweeps o’er the sea,
Shaking the waters mightily;
But ne’er the tempest’s voice so loud,
Sinketh down to the things that lie–

The icebergs crack with a sullen boom,
